HB Lottery Apps

Are the applications for the lottery process simply a black hole? I've submitted applications for my kids and all I get is an email saying something was submitted. No specifics whatsoever.

Body of email looks like this:

<<Thank you for completing the Options Schools Application Form for School Year 2018-2019. Your application has been received and recorded for Arlington Public Schools.

This is an automated message. Please do not reply to this email. >>

What would you like in addition to this?
A link to donate the the Arlington County Democratic Party?

Weird. What makes you think I'm a dem? Because I live in Arlington? I'd like the child's name and the school option that I registered for. How is that too much to ask? Its simply a manner of verifying that the form I believe I filled out and submitted was actually filled out and received as I anticipated. Technology is certainly capable of such a response.

The Dem comment was given with the international emoji of sarcasm and reflects the politics of the School Board. I got the response to my applications and I expect nothing better from APS. BTW, did you check out the latest APS email missive on DACA?

Haven't. Nope. I get your mood, now I think. ? I guess you are simply reinforcing my displeasure with the "empty" email response. The whole application process seems to suggest that one could fill that form out a million times and maybe have your child entered into the lottery a million times. I like that the forms have gone electronic, but it all definitely seems to still need work ?

Those question marks are supposed to be smileys emoticons.! Who needs help with their tech now.

As a conservative, the virtue signaling drives me nuts.

But living in Arlington, I keep my head low and donate to tne other guy.

Just never expect to win.

I’m a democrat, and I agree. Drop the first 3- paragraphs and just get on with it. Arlington always sounds just so impressed with itself. Just do it ( live your values) and shut about it already.
- sorry for the tangent.

It’s lovely, but shame that APS doesn’t address the things that it actually has the authority to address: an appalling lack of capacity at the high school level, and ridiculous de facto segregation between North and South Arlington schools.

They are pretentious hypocrites of the highest order.

I presume you had to submit their APS student number on the application, right? That’s how they would de-duplicate.

I wonder how they are going to figure out my two entries are twins and should be treated as one application.
