| I swear even grown-ass men rely on texting. I have a thing for a guy who loves to text me, but never calls me. And it's not just me, he won't call anyone. Seriously. WTF. Can I just get a damn phonecall? |
| Do you think only kids text? |
| I have to be honest, I hate talking on the phone. I would rather text or talk in person. |
How often do you call him? |
+1 and when I was still dating, I dreaded the online dating guy who wanted to chat on the phone before meeting in person. |
| I was driving yesterday and the texts just kept dinging. I was thinking how much more efficient life would be if people would just call me. |
| Woman here, and I hate talking on the phone. Especially when it's something quick and easy. I have my phone off when I drive. |
Opposite here. I wouldn't agree to a date unless we'd spoken by phone first. |
| At least there's a consensus among you ladies so that men know what to do. |
I cant understand why, you sound so pleasant. just kidding a lot of people hate talking on the phone |
|
No one calls anymore, except at work. Text, text, text.
The only people outside of work I regularly call are elderly relatives. This is the world you live in. Adapt. |
| We need a written record in case you decide later that the date was not consensual. |
| have you told him you want to talk on the phone? if you have and he doesn't then he's not that into you. |
| I'll call you, baby. Gimme those digits. |
No way are telephone calls more efficient than texts. The sender can send when it's convenient to them and the recipient can respond when it's convenient. With a phone call, you both have to be available at the same, exact time (often meaning one person has to set aside what they were doing for the convenience of the other.) Also, texts tend to be right to the point and don't require a bunch of fluff about "how's it going," "sure is some weather we're having lately," and "well, I guess I've got to go now." Finally, people tend to focus their thoughts more when writing than when speaking so the communication is frequently not as vague. |
