| I'd like to bike to work, but my office (near Metro Center) does not have a shower facility. Any bike commuters have ideas of where I might be able to take a shower? I've not been able to find a gym that has shower-only privileges. Thanks. |

I was going to suggest gyms. Did you try hotels around metro center? Sometimes they have pool out workout memberships. I know someone who used to shower at the y in DuPont.
Another thought is to check with some of the leed certified buildings. They get extra points in the leed system if they offer amenities for bikers, I believe. Welcome to bike commuting! I hope you love it as much as I do! |
Have fun biking to work when the wind chills are in the single digits or below zero.

| PS me again. Please check in here if you find good options. I'm currently working suburbs but would love an ocassional shower options when I go downtown for meetings. |
| Me again was first pp, not the naysayer |

The is not Florida.
It was 9 degrees in DC yesterday morning. |
| Do you have any way to join the National Press Club? It has showers and bike commuters often use it. |
Don’t be ignorant. They make gear for this. People ride in the winter. |
| Bike commuter here, but not familiar with that area, sorry. If you don't get an answer here, post in the Washington Area Bike Forum - http://bikearlingtonforum.com/forum.php (note that it's for all of DC, even though URL says Arlington. |
It is not any enjoyable experience though. This is coming from someone who used to bike in heavy snowstorms as a kid. |
| Crew Club. |
| Get an ebike. No showers needed. |
| How far are you biking to metro center? There's a facility at union station which could make sense if you're biking a really long way, say from up in MD ending your route down the met branch trail. But not ideal to metro center. |
| You're not going to find a gym with shower only priviledges. The water bill would be higher than their electricity costs! Just sign up for gold's, pay $60/month and quit being a baby. Or get a job at a company with an on-site gym. |
