Why is Ellen's show so popular?

If I get home early and catch it it's always her giving stuff away to pathetic fanatics (she hardly conceals her obvious distain for them) or having a unfunny interview with a celeb. Seems like she's just mailing it in.

I'd be interested to know whether the same person or the same few people start all the recent hate-Ellen threads. This is maybe the third one recently. I don't see why it's interesting to start these threads. And I say that as someone who doesn't watch her show because I find her unfunny and prefer other hosts and other formats. I don't care for her show but why the repeated DCUM threads about it? Just don't watch.

I used to love but have been turned off in the few clips I've seen of her show in the past year or two. There seems to be an underlying meanness to her that wasn't there in the past.

I am as liberal as they come but I don’t find Ellen funny at all. Never have.

This! She tries to play it off as sarcasm but it's obvious mean-spirited elitism. She clearly thinks all the lunatics in her audience are losers.

So she was funnier earlier on? It reminds me of Chelsea Lately before E! cancelled her show. Handler CLEARLY hated everyone on the staff and acted like she hated filming the 20 minute show, yet the show was her source of income and fame. So weird.
