The complicit GOP and their Koch handlers are likely doing backflips that Trump is so stupid + easy to manipulate and manage. The traitors in Congress will do nothing and will have blood on their hands once we enter military conflict, which is inevitable with this nut-ball in office.

This was OBVIOUS before Trump was elected. Trump voters decided they'd rather have a mentally ill, unstable person running the Federal government than Hillary Clinton. The majority of American voters (by more than 3 million) decided Hillary was a better choice, despite her flaws. Now, the entire nation is threatened because we literally have a madman in the Oval Office. The question is: Who will step forward, and remove him from office? The Democrats have called repeatedly for his impeachment (except Pelosi and Schumer who keep saying "it's not time"), but the complicit and compromised GOP refuse to remove this clearly unfit and dangerous man from office because he does their bidding. Our entire democracy is under threat because of this man and his enablers, yet the people who have the power to remove him do nothing. They are as bad as he. |

The title should read "Partisan lawmakers briefed on Trump's mental health" since according to the linked article "all of the lawmakers in attendance were Democrats, except for one Republican senator." No one is named but I suspect they include those who voted for his impeachment recently in a vote that most Democrats in the House would not support. Lee is one of those involved "in a book of essays published in October, two dozen psychiatrists and psychologists challenged strictures laid down by their professions’ leaders and publicly probed Trump’s mental state. “The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump” is a recitation of evidence for what they contend is Trump’s malignant narcissism, hedonism and sociopathy." The authors’ defiance has won them a harsh rebuke from Dr. Jeffrey Lieberman, a past president of the American Psychiatric Assn. Lieberman denounced the book of essays as “tawdry, indulgent, fatuous tabloid psychiatry.” The book of essays, edited by Yale School of Medicine psychiatrist Dr. Bandy X. Lee, has been a finger in the eye of the American Psychiatric Assn., which in 1973 issued a prohibition against public diagnosis by its members. In what is widely known as “the Goldwater Rule,” the APA declared it “unethical for a psychiatrist to offer a professional opinion” on a public figure “unless he or she has conducted an examination and has been granted proper authorization for such a statement.” That rule was crafted to avert any repeat of a Cold-War-era incident that caused the psychiatry establishment acute embarrassment. In an article titled "The Unconscious of a Conservative,” Fact Magazine reported in 1964 that 1,189 psychiatrists believed Goldwater to be “psychologically unfit to be president.” Goldwater went on to sue the magazine for libel — and won. Almost a decade later, the APA’s first-ever ethics committee crafted the Goldwater Rule. The vast majority of Democrats did not attend either so they must be partisan and not paying attention - in fact, the reports I read say that the actual number who attended were about a dozen out of 535 senators and members of the House! The hysteria of liberals is out of control. Get it through your thick heads: Trump will be around through 2020 and if the Democrats field a candidate as flawed as Hillary he will win reelection and you nuts will be going on about impeaching him or removing him from office all the way to 2024. |

Just out of curiosity, having the benefit of hindsight would it be apropos to say that they hysteria of conservatives was out of control in 2009 seeing how Obama thru 2017? I'm just wondering if this is a pot calling the kettle black situation considering the GOP was going on about his birth certificate and suspicions of him being Muslim and were similarly obsessed about removing him from office. |

No, sugar, I'm not a moron. In the first, Trump is guilty of treason, so even without his galloping dementia, he's not going to be in office till the end of his term. In the second, his brain is melting. If Mueller doesn't get him first, he'll get on national tv and fibber like a broken wind up toy. Sooner or later the Ruth will out. It isn't "hysteria" to make note of this. Your intransigence is a disgrace, however. I pity the people who have to listen to you irl. |
