Kalahari vs Great Wolf vs ?

Do you have a preference? Pros and cons of each?? I can't decide.

I just started researching and think kalahari seems slightly geared for older kids.

Kalahari or Camelback are far nicer than GWL

Where are these? Never heard of them, but interested. We have a 6yo who can swim and absolutely loves the water, but I've been turned of by reviews of Great Wolf Lodge.

Trip advisor seems to lean in favor of GWL

Kalahari is in the Poconos and I've heard it's nicer than GWL but I've only been to GWL and despite parents hating it.... kids friggin love it.

I have researched both and can't see the difference besides the theme.

GWL is closer (especially if you can avoid traffic on I95S), has better food options within close driving distance (so you don't have to eat the park crap food), and has the MagicQuest thing which the kids love. Can also combine with a trip to Colonial Williamsburg, if you want to do more than just 2 days.

I think the Kalahari water park itself is a bit bigger, though.

I have been to Kalahari and to GWL.

I agree...do a search.

But! My opinion is that Kalahari has a better waterpark, cleaner and better food.

There are areas for younger and older kids in both places.

Kalahari has a theme of Africa.
GWL has a bear / woodsy theme.

The rooms are cheaper at Kalahari...but check Groupon. Both will have specials.

Kalahari has other activities than the water park that my kids liked, such as mini golf, bowling, laser tag and virtual reality.

Kalahari is MUCH bigger water park than GWL. Their PA location is their largest. I have been to both their PA and OH locations.

Kalahari does NOT require you to stay over to use the park. You can stay other places and then visit the park for the day rate. GWL...does not have that option.

As a parent, I will not go back to GWL. Severely overpriced and nickel/dimes you on everything. My kids were not interested in magic quest, which they PUSH.
