| Will the elementary kids still have recess outside tomorrow? |
| No. |
| Sucks because kids really need to run around today! I mean obviously I get it is too cold, but I wish they would do exercises in the classroom or had some type of indoor room they could use to run around in (I guess the gym is otherwise occupied?) |
|
Did you take your kids out to run around? Are you taking them to the park before or after school?
As a teacher, the parents I know that complain the most whose kids don't get time at school to run around, aren't standing outside in the cold, in professional clothes, for 1/2 a hour every few hours. |
| I'm in a different district, but I bet we'll go out. We willing go out if there is a will chill warning, which there is not. |
| * will go out |
Nasty parents deserve nasty teachers. |

Hard to have outdoor recess in the cold when half the kids come to school dressed inappropriately for the weather. 11 degrees at drop off this morning and I saw a kid walking to school (not being dropped off) in basketball shorts. Admittedly, he did look like he might have regretted his choice.

| When we lived in Europe kids had recess every day unless it was raining. Even in inter. They were required to have snow pants and boots and gloves etc at school and would also play in the snow. Yes, teachers stood outside in he cold and watched them. But apparently they also dressed for the weather. |
This. At our school, a winter coat (not a hoodie or light fleece), gloves and a hat are required to go out for recess when it is this cold. Unfortunately not everyone is prepared and that limits the ability to go outside for recess. |
Wow, what's so "nasty" about this teacher's post? That he or she doesn't really want to stand outside for long periods of time, when it's 15 degrees outside? Sounds like a teacher with an abundance of common sense to me... |
| I'm OK keeping them inside when it's this cold (14 degrees). But I do think they should go outside every day when it's above freezing. 35? Put on your coat and run around, kid! |

Not PP, but I thought the teacher's post was unnecessarily defensive. No one before her post was pushing for kids to be outside today. |
| No outside recess for my 1st grader today. |
