2018 Kia Sorento

Anonymous
Considering buying a 2018 Kia Sorento. Wondering if there are any Kia drivers here and what their experience has been.

Can’t speak to the Sorento, but I am an Accord devotee who got an Optima over the summer, and have been nothing but happy. Interior was best in class (non-luxury mid-size sedan), and easily most upgraded features for the money. Very pleased so far.

Kia and Hyundai have both out-Japanese'd the Japanese car companies in the last 6-8 years.

They are what Honda and Toyota USED to be in the previous couple decades. An amazing intersection of quality and price.

KIA cars are still cheaper than Honda + Toyota and for one reason ONLY.

Because you always get what you pay for.

Ask a mechanic what he thinks of KIA vehicles vs. Honda & Toyota vehicles to get an accurate opinion from someone w/experience.

We are on our second Kia (sportage) and really like it. My DH researched the hell out of it when we made the purchase years ago. Would highly recommend the brand, at least the sportage.

I have a 2013 Kia Forte. I bought it new and have not needed any repairs yet except for an odd issue with the brake warning light which was covered under warranty. I've never had any other issues with it. But I can't say I love the car. There are a few little things that make the car seem a little cheaply made to me (regarding the interior). Not sure I'd buy a Kia again but I don't have any real complaints.

We got a Kia Niro this year and have been very happy. My husband was shocked at how nice the interior is in the Niro when we first saw it. We had looked at Kias about 7 years ago (in passing) and thought the insides were pretty gross. They've come a very long way.

I’m sure a mechanic wouldn’t say it wasn’t a bad car.

My mechanic would.
He thinks Kia and Daewoo are the worst brands in the world.

Junk like Saturns.

I looked at one a couple of years ago. The cheap interior turned me away. It just felt like junk

I had a new Kia when they first got popular. I had such terrible experiences with the dealer/ service issues that I swore never again would I buy a Kia, and I never will. I wrote a letter to corporate saying as much, and they sent me a pen, which I threw out.
