It is unless you claim an exemption. Claiming an exemption is easy, just say it's for religious reasons and they can't question it. And then you have mumps in your school.

Vaccinations should be mandatory. Barring a very specific medical condition.

Prolonged exposure can be problematic, even if vaccinated. it’s a SCEINCE school ,correct?

It had to come from somewhere--whether the kid was vaccinated or not. My guess is that it came from outside the US.
