Did you complain about the 25% increase in debt under the Trump administration? What did the US get for that bump? Because we can at least justify the Biden increase in the jobs created under the IRA and CHIPs Acts.

DEI killed the CHIPS Act
by Matt Cole and Chris Nicholson
03/07/24 | The Hill

DEI — the identity-obsessed dogma that goes by “diversity, equity, and inclusion” — has now trained Google’s new AI to refuse to draw white people. What’s even more alarming is that it’s also infected the supply chain that makes the chips powering everything from AI to missiles, endangering national security.

The Biden administration recently promised it will finally loosen the purse strings on $39 billion of CHIPS Act grants to encourage semiconductor fabrication in the U.S. But less than a week later, Intel announced that it’s putting the brakes on its Columbus factory. The Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has pushed back production at its second Arizona foundry. The remaining major chipmaker, Samsung, just delayed its first Texas fab.

This is not the way companies typically respond to multi-billion-dollar subsidies. So what explains chipmakers’ apparent ingratitude? In large part, frustration with DEI requirements embedded in the CHIPS Act.

Commentators have noted that CHIPS and Science Act money has been sluggish. What they haven’t noticed is that it’s because the CHIPS Act is so loaded with DEI pork that it can’t move.

By WHIO Staff | June 07, 2024

The U.S. middle class is getting smaller and the number of Americans falling toward poverty is on the rise.

As reported on News Center 7 at 5:30, more and more people are falling toward poverty as prices rise.

“Most people have seen their wages go up a little and go up over time, but they’re not enough to compensate for the higher prices,” Dr. Michael Walden, an Economist at North Carolina State University said.

According to a recent report from the Pew Research Center, in 1971, 61% of the nation was middle class. As of 2023, that number has dropped to 51%.

What is the GOP plan?

Change the tax code to a user VAT tax which hist lower and middle classes disproportionately. Continue tax cuts for businesses and the wealthy.

How does that not continue to exacerbate the problem?

At least the democrats are trying.

Trump told the House GOP today that he wants to replace income taxes with tariffs on imports.

Thereby increasing the budget deficit by additional trillions.

Trump is so colossally stupid.

And every republican that whines about inflation and supports this is equally stupid.

I don’t think anyone believes that Republicans care about inflation, especially since most of the “inflation” that we’ve experienced has just been corporations price gouging average Americans. They love this crap. It gives them an election talking point plus insane profits; it’s all they’ve ever wanted!

Why did corporations wait until the Biden administration to price gouge if it is so easy to do?

They had the cover of covid to start - a fact Republicans conveniently forget happened, and now they have a pressing reason. They want the GOP back. They hate the rules that keep our food supply safe. They hate the rules that keep their employees safer. They know that the younger crop of Democrats doesn’t think that corporations should be able to spoil the water and land and pay their employees poorly and they seek to head that off by getting Republicans in office.

From the article:

"Handouts abound. There’s plenty for the left—requirements that chipmakers submit detailed plans to educate, employ, and train lots of women and people of color, as well as “justice-involved individuals,” more commonly known as ex-cons. There’s plenty for the right—veterans and members of rural communities find their way into the typical DEI definition of minorities. There’s even plenty for the planet: Arizona Democrats just bragged they’ve won $15 million in CHIPS funding for an ASU project fighting climate change."

"For instance, chipmakers have to make sure they hire plenty of female construction workers, even though less than 10 percent of U.S. construction workers are women. They also have to ensure childcare for the female construction workers and engineers who don’t exist yet. They have to remove degree requirements and set “diverse hiring slate policies,” which sounds like code for quotas. They must create plans to do all this with “close and ongoing coordination with on-the-ground stakeholders.”

Ya don't say!

Inflation is the only solution to the structural problems.

Biden was going to sign the GOP’s dream immigration act until the GOP killed it because a convict told them to.

The only fix to immigration is to deport the tens of millions of illegals and their children. There was no "dream" GOP legislation, merely one not supported by actual Republican voters. Don't be dishonest and claim otherwise.

“Amid a flood of border crossings under the Biden administration, a majority of voters support a federal program to deport all illegal aliens residing in the United States, a new poll shows.

Nearly six in ten voters, including a third of Democrats and nine in ten Republicans, endorse a hypothetical mass deportation effort, according to a CBS News poll conducted June 5 to June 7.”

They think they want this, until the see the cost and terror it will bring across the US.

Not to mention the fact that legal immigrants and citizens will get caught up in this fiasco.
