3 Cases of Coronavirus Confirmed in MD

Why ? Such a difference?

What we are seeing is different responses from different jurisdictions and states. The MOCO 3 from the Nile River cruise? Coronavirus was a hot topic when they went on the cruise - 1 has been to a private event in PA that precipitated the closure of 5 schools for deep cleaning in Bucks County PA. Philly estimates 400k in free meals not prepared at school sites for closures. MOCO? Bring students from closed schools to central sites for free meals. San Francisco closed the Opera House and at least 1 school. I MOCO Nile river cruiser went to a nursing home in MOCO and the daughter of a patient discovered that watching the news …

Bottom line is Bucks County PA closed 5 schools, planned deep cleaning, notified all while MOCO diddled away. MOCO knew about it by 3/5/20 - how hard was it to get basic info like the nursing home? Is MOCO to PC compared to Bucks that I can't behave sensibly with this virus? https://www.mymcmedia.org/elrich-to-offer-update-o...onavirus-cases-friday-morning/

I thought there was asymptotic transmission. I feel like they aren’t doing all they could be. I predict community transmission is confirmed in the next few days

I was there this morning. Each and every person who walks in must fill out a questionnaire and has their temp taken. Residents’ temps are taken twice a day. Nobody there is currently symptomatic. The event that the coronavirus patient attended was in one room so health dept. believes risk is low and have not instructed quarantines, unless symptomatic.

70 to 100 people attended the event! Must be either very big room or very small people. How is ot low risk to have sick person with so many and not even tracing contacts and ask to isolate?..

When did we stop caring about sick case exposure to a large group? Is someone tracking anyone or something?... or cat out of the bag we are on our own...
Rockville village case fells like nobody is doing nothing, correct? Remember washington state elder care center precautions and alarm?...

Were they contacted? Were they told to isolate?

This!!!

We've had family , friends, and others in nursing homes. No one used the restroom? Got coffee? MOCO is BS. Note he schools closing in PA and he sanitizing. Furthermore MCPS is planning congregate = group feeding for closed schools instead of specifically stating it will/is getting waivers from USDA.

Risk is low to people who didn’t attend the event, but the event drew guests from all over the DMV and beyond...which means anyone exposed took their germs back to other communities.

My guess is it came from AIPAC - there is cross attendance

I visited a different retirement community in Rockville today. They had signs saying anyone who had been to the Villages after whatever day would not be allowed to visit or work there.

I posted the comparison between Bucks County PA and MOCO. The persons with coronavirus are MOCO residents and any contact tracing would initiate within MOCO. Baltimore news station :https://www.wbal.com/article/439762/188/maryland-officials-virus-risk-at-retirement-community

March 6 7:15 pm time stamp on the MD Dept of Health - meanwhile those 5 Pennsylvania schools were closed for the entire day beginning in the AM on Friday the 6th. Infectious disease exposure? It's like 6 degrees of separation. Food insecurity v waivers for congregate meals? MCPS even considering relocating free congregate feed is ludicrous if a school is closed for potential or actual exposure.

Spoke to a relative in the Seattle area today. Kids are going to school.
Parents are working and traveling. Makes it hard to believe all of MCPS should close.

Federal courts in Seattle are closed. Some schools and districts in Washington are closed, including U of W. And many companies in California and Washington are telling employees to telework. Not everyone is working outside the house. Many aren't.

You want to imitate the state with the most virulent outbreak?

Can you understand the link between “continuing life as usual” and the rapid increase in cases?

I swear, some posters have no brain.

San Francisco continued life as usual, and the result was almost a full month of undetected community transmission https://www.sfchronicle.com/health/article/Coronavirus-may-have-been-circulating-in-15114035.php

I believe they have postponed jury trials rather than closing the courts.
