Tell me, what do schools like Landon and Gonzaga do to remain top-ranked in lacrosse? How does the recruiting work? Do LAX players get extra academic support?

Ok, I'll buy that. St johns is definitely too far to drive for most from va. Probably good for VLC and madlax too then.

Good riddance. Semi-related, SJC got what they deserved letting Horsey go and hiring Trig.

Horsey is a super nice guy, but not a great Xs and Os coach.

Did SJC let Horsey go? I have seen him all week on the SJC field at the lacrosse camp. Maybe they let him finish out the summer or is the camp separate from the school?

Horsey was canned, Trig has been coaching SJC since the summer began.

Horsey was a lousy coach at SJC and was pretty average at Landon when he was the offensive coordinator.

While at SJC, I didn't see any type of improvement year over year.

Yes, they were happy at Landon to see him go. But while I don't think he is a great coach, SJC suffers more from lack of talent than poor coaching.

The guy now has been at 4 different schools in 6 years.

It's a red flag....

I like Horsey. But if SJ wants a lacrosse winner, they picked the right coach. The irony is that all those parents who wanted a winning lacrosse team at all costs will find that one cost is having your son subjected or at least exposed to borderline abuse, and the other cost is that your heretofore star laxer will ride the bench when Trig starts recruiting in earnest.

It's only a matter of time before it ends badly at STJ for Trig. Once parents witness the abuse, they'll see why SSSA said good riddance to him.

why are you so anti Trig? did your son have a poor experience?

Do those boarding schools let the 20 year old PGs get an off campus apartment? #laxbrolivesmatter.

Our experience with Trig was enough to steer clear of him. He was very abusive dropping the F bomb like every other word. He humiliated the boys by yelling at them, telling them they were nothing if they mess up. He is just a sad example of a coach. At the time my son was 12 and he knew this guy was bad news. Thank goodness my son dodged a bullet by not going to SJC.

Just do a little research and you will read other families stories. I don't believe he has changed a bit thru the years.

Trig isn't for everyone (I don't like him), but he is nowhere near as bad of a guy as the Madlax owner. Boggles my mind that anyone who pay money for their son to play for him.

They're both bad guys. Fatso running Crabs is a bad guy. That's what stinks about this youth sport locally. The 3 most prominent clubs are run by narcissistic, greedy scumbags.
