The former chair of the now-disbanded Jan. 6 committee introduced a bill Friday that would strip Secret Service protection of any former executive convicted of a felony — an effort to avoid the complications of incarcerating former President Trump should he be ordered to serve jail time.

Dubbed the “Denying Infinite Security and Government Resources Allocated toward Convicted and Extremely Dishonorable (DISGRACED) Former Protectees Act,” the legislation from Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) would nix the lifelong protection given to former presidents if they are convicted and sentenced for a felony that carries a year or more in prison time.

Well, that’s a good look. We know who they are now.

Yes, yes it will. We all knew this months ago.

Wow, I wonder how long it took Bennie to come up with that acronym.

Please catch up. The shooter was on a roof outside of the safety perimeter.

BBC interviewed someone claiming he saw the shooter with a gun and was pointing at him for two minutes. Secret Service on the barn roof was looking at the interviewee pointing but he thinks maybe they couldn't see the shooter.

All we have to do is vote. These events do have to effect our vote.

The solution here is clear, pass a law mandating everyone have a gun at all Republican rallies!

The best defense against a bad guy with a gun is hundreds of MAGA’s with gun together at a large rally. Brilliant! Thoughts and prayers as well, that should cover it!

Right, because in April the whole country was singing kumbaya.

I was super impressed with the security personnel at first. And I still am in awe of how courageous and professional the first responders were.

BUT I just heard that the shooter was on a roof. That suggests that something was missed in the advanced planning, no?

An unpredictable or unforeseen event. It’s a real term.

It’s not outside the realm of possibility. The GOP has gone nucking futs and I don’t think the average Republican voter wants to accept how far gone their party is, how psychotic the GOP is.
