Was a pretty measured post. Math, plus optimistic prediction, hardly equals "blowhard". Which other teams got more competitive? One of the 5 that Cap Blue beat that are ranked above them? And how exactly would you know. Just a troll. |
Skywalkers, for one, got way more competitive. |
YJ beat hero’s and prime time this summer. |
That’s actually pretty typical if you know anything about the HS lax trends. The other areas start to combine talent to singular teams in an aren’t and MD stays spread among many teams. Only Hero’s and M&D are in the top ten at the 27 and the 26 age group. The parity between the top 15 gets much less as well once all of the girls have the advantage of playing consistently thorough their HS teams and puberty has leveled out as well. Crush doesn’t even exist at the 26 and 27 age groups and coppermine didn’t pick up steam until the 28 class either. Maryland still spreading talent across Hero’s, M&D, Maryland United, Coppermine, Crush, and Skywalkers. All of which are ranked in the top 16. (10 spots above Capital) |
And looking at Hero’s record they beat YJ, Prime Time and Eagle Stix (twice). |
Hero’s, Eagle Stix and YJ are the 3 best teams. Prime time is too high. Capital will finish the year outside the top 25 |
Wasn’t arguing that they should be 1, or above hero’s. Just surprised they were at 4. |
Prime Time is exactly where they should be, just like every other team. |
It's simply an algorithm, so the math shouldn't be surprising! |
Someone who doesn't understand the math is making predictions about it for next year. Interesting. |
At this point, all the team’s rosters are set, and we should all be looking forward to a great fall season! Only time will tell how each team will perform. Whether you are thrilled with your team’s picks or still processing the choices, seems like the debate and speculation is behind us until play resumes. |
Even math won’t help the Capital teams. |
Pretty defensive here. PP made no reference to Capital. But it makes sense a club that only came into its own about six years ago and pulls primarily / exclusively from the DMV and has an even playing rotation model would have a lower ranking compared to others that have been in existence for decades and lean heavily toward playing starters for ranking purposes. What doesn’t make sense is that a sport MD clubs put on the map now only has three teams in the top ten. Also “top 16” isn’t a thing lol. |
An area that can support 5 teams and have them all in the top 20 (is that better than top 16?) would still be "on the map". An area that brags about how great they are, yet can't field 1 team inside the top 20, is not on the map. Stop justifying things with the rotation model. All HS teams have kids playing at least 50%. |
This “even playing time” cope is hilarious. MDU, M&D, and Heros are 50/50 PT clubs in HS, kids would leave/not come if that wasn’t the case. And since this is like the 19th time you are bringing it back up and will claim to have seen the MD teams playing just their stars, I will again say that I have a kid on one of those clubs and you are lying. If it is a showcase event, everyone plays equally. Those teams are just better, that is why they are ranked higher, that is why they will be in better brackets. Cap Blue just isn’t a well run club and it gets what it gets each year, and the 2028s didn’t get enough to be elite. Also, the author used “top 16” because that is SW Blue’s ranking, and that is the last of the highly ranked, usual suspects MD team, you ignoramus. |
