Hey look, we’re grateful for the thought the vast majority of the time. But please don’t send in opened-anything or unsealed anything! The opened cookies and unsealed lipbalms went right into the trash. Why do parents do this?

I had no idea that sending in used/open/unsealed items as gifts was a thing.
I usually did Starbucks gift cards. |
| Ewww - people really do this? |
|
Nothing with an apple on it or that says No. 1 teacher or some version of that. Ugh!
|
| Instead of posting here, go tell those parents about what you did with ghir gifts. |
| Everyone gets dumb gifts every now and then. No big deal. Throw away and move on. |
| If you want a specific gift, then when you are asked say so. I asked our teacher multiple times and got no answer. |
| Please no highly scented candles, lotions, or hand sanitizers. |
There’s a questionnaire we fill out. There are plenty of ideas I gave. For the record, my favorite thing is a handwritten note from a student. I need nothing more more. But crikey, opened stuff is awful. |
Yeah, because there’s a tactful way to do that. |
Last year I asked the teacher to pick a few stores and suggestions and she gave it to me. This year nothing so she'll get a generic gift card. |
|
Why do people assume teachers need hundreds of dollars worth of Starbucks?
Amazon. |
Teachers don’t get much sleep and few schools provide coffee unless it’s a meeting. |
| I LOVE adding all those giftcards to my Starbucks app! I go there quite often. |
| I hate coffee and would hate to spend money on expensive coffee. Target please |
