My husband and I have an opportunity to go on a vacation this Fall for about 5 days without the kids. Any recommendations? We don't want to go somewhere too family-oriented this time. Thanks!

St. Bart's or Cabo. They have great resorts that are def not kid friendly.
Most islands have many resorts that are no kids- I;d avoid the lower end all inclusive since that attracts families. Go tto frommers.com or fodors.com and read their review on each island and decide which ones suits you- then search for a place.. have fun!
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh..Turks and Caicos-Parrot Cay--you feel like you should be running around in a loin cloth , it's that exotic. But...make sure you really like exotic because it's not a nightclub place--very quiet, peaceful and tropical. And...kind of cool that you may see Jlo running around the place --maybe by then she will have her bikini body back since she goes there along with Cristi Brinkley and Bruce Willis.

I highly recommend La Casa Que Canta in Zihuatanejo, Mexico. Very romantic and secluded...and relaxing. We didn't see one child in the 10 days we were there!

You should check out the Royal Hideaway Playacar in Riviera Maya, Mexico. It's easy to get to (you fly to Cancun) and it's adults only and a very upscale all-inclusive (fabulous food and high end liquor). We went last year and had an amazing time.
We went to Playa del Carmen in Mexico - near Cancun. It was an all inclusive resort, no children. Beautiful, affordable. Tripadvisor helped me out in choosing the destination and resort.

I love Cuisinart on Anguilla. We've been there twice and I don't think we've ever seen a child? (could be selective memory) Anyway, it's breathtaking.

OP here: Thank you for all the suggestions. It was so nice to log-on here today and see such great ideas.
Rock House in Jamaica. Beautiful and serene; a far cry from the all-inclusive scene. www.rockhousehotel.com
I second the Royal Hideaway in Playacar. My husband and I went there for our honeymoon and loved it. Very luxurious.
If money is no object, the Ocean Club in the Bahamas. There's direct flights, which is a plus.
re Cuisinart - my friends went there two Thanksgivings ago with their then 8 month old. Not that it still wouldn't be nice, but kids do go there! I saw pictures, it does look beautiful!
anyone have a good travel agent to recommend?

If she's still there, Kathy Drew with Go Away Travel is an absolute expert in Caribbean resorts. She's amazing.
