| I am a major introvert and although I love my husband, kids, and job I really need some time alone. Also, I'm already dreading winter and I want to plan 3-4 days in February in Mexico or the Caribbean (Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Aruba, DR...??) just to go lay by the pool with my book, maybe get a massage, and enjoy warm weather. I have also considered somewhere in Florida but I get worried if it will be warm enough. I am a petite 5'4" 120 woman. |
| Yes I would. I have done it for work many times. Skip Jamaica. |
| Absolutely. The best vacation I've ever taken in my life was 10 days alone in St. Croix at a resort with no cell phone reception. I read about 20 books in my hammock on the shore, napped, swam, did yoga at sunrise and sunset, and saw the most beautiful place on earth. Some days I talked to no one but service staff. It was truly paradise. I have a preschooler now and I dream that one day I can do it again! |

Let’s go together.
- another introverted working mom. We don’t even have to talk most of the time. I’m free in March! |
| Grand Cayman is your safest bet. Stay at the ritz Carlton. |
| Yes. I have done the Caribbean and Mexico alone several times. |
| Yes absolutely but in Mexico I'd only drink beer where I see them open the bottle. No mixed drinks. |
| I went solo to the Bahamas last fall. It was glorious! Made me want to plan at least one solo trip per year from now on. |
I'm considering St Croix for February. Which month did you go? Which resort? |
| No but I've been to South Beach alone many times. |
| YES! I went to Anse Chastenet in St. Lucia alone. Introverted mom here as well. Petite. Didn't want to get hit on or otherwise bothered. Resort was beautiful, safe, quiet haven. Amazing food. Beautiful rooms. Great staff. |
Isn't St. Croix still recovering from the hurricanes? I thought 1/2 of the island still doesn't have power? |
| If you are concerned about foreign travel, go to Key West. Its walkable and there are some nice hotels like the Casa Marina, which is further from town and therefore a little quieter. The beach isn't as good as in the Caribbean though. |
| Just make sure you pick a safe resort to stay at and avoid taking cabs by yourself. I have visited many Caribbean islands and some of them can be unsafe for a woman traveling alone (like Antigua or Barbados). |
|
Yes, of course! I went solo to Cancun; Punta Cana, DR; and La Fortuna, Costa Rica. I was never worried.
