Would you go somewhere in the Caribbean (or Mexico) alone?

To get my groove back, I would. Jk.

Grand Cayman is beautiful and very safe if you don't want to be confined to your hotel.

OP here- yes, Grand Cayman is very high on my list! Am also considering Bahamas.

I have been to Mexico alone to the beach and I would go again. I've also gone to multiple countries in Africa alone too. Just plan ahead, don't go out too much at night and enjoy. You might feel most comfortable at a spa-type place that tends to attract women.

Yep. I've been to Turks & Caicos, Aruba, and Costa Rica by myself. Totally fine. Be sensible and aware of your surroundings, and have good "street smarts." And you'll be fine. Crap can happen to you right here in the good ol' USA.

I have traveled to Costa Rica, Guatemala, Belize, and Panama alone. No problems. Guatemala I actually went to twice, and one of those it was combined with belize.I do speak Spanish so that made me more comfortable, but I am a white woman, so I stood out. I researched where I was going and took general Street precautions and was fine

Yeah, honestly I don’t plan to be out and about much. Just in a beach/pool chair, toes in the sand, book in hand, cool drink. Mmmm.

Yes, did it alone pre-kid. Amazing Pink Sands resort in Bahamas, didn't bother me a bit that most of people there were honeymooners so they didn't talk to me.

Check out Club Meds. They're great for solo vacations.

I would love to do this!

BTW-What does height /weight have to do with traveling solo?

I would. I love St. Croix, but we rent a cottage and a car, so you might not be comfortable with that on your own. I've never felt unsafe on the island though.

If I were to go alone now, I would probably do an all-inclusive, just because of the convenience factor.
