Does anyone read these posts? Some of these cannot be real. Like this one.

Greeting everyone!

Thank you in advance!

I definitely get the impression that some of them are greatly exaggerated. Or just trolls or someone trying to satirize the typical student on CC. If not, a board where for the college-obsessed that provides validation on self-worth definitely attracts that type of student. Overachiever, worrier, highly competitive, etc.

I think 90% of their traffic is psycho helicopter parents pretending to be teens. And so many of the lifer psychos have completely average kids so they spend all day every day on there talking up crappy public colleges. You see a lot of 'where you go to undergrad doesn't matter' posts.

I think CC is a very self-selected platform. The kids who post there are usually insanely competitive and quite ahead of the curve when it comes to college admissions. Yes maybe this profile is fake, but maybe it is that one crazy smart kid with completely psycho parents who has been made to work like a robot all of her life. This type of kid is rare, but it exists.

Obviously fake. Wouldn’t have that many AP scores before end of senior year. And some of the sports are the same season. And the kid doesn’t know how to spell medal.

I don't think this is even possible. This raises another question of how to colleges verify these types of things on applications?

Just curious but why? My DD had less than 1352 but close to it.

If they don't have a job, it's easier to rack up community service hours and extra curriculars. Where I grew up, your "community service" usually involved flipping burgers or mixing oreo blizzards for Dairy Queen.

You clowns realize that it is mathematically impossible to have a 5.79 weighted GPA if bonus points are capped at 1. A high school class of 952?

Sure it is. It is less than 9 hours week during the three year period. More on breaks and summer (say 20 hours week) bring the weekly need closer to 7 hours during the school year. Plenty of opportunities for a motivated student.

Adding it to the list of other achievements and club participations puts it into fantasyland.

Some schools give 1 point for Honors and 2 points for APs. It is possible in those areas. A class of 952is no unheard of in larger communities.

Each individual piece of information is plausible, it is when they are all on the same resume that makes it a farce.

It's more sobering when you read the results threads for certain sought after schools.... I truly hope those are trolls
