This is where our country is heading with the current view that patriotism can only be expressed in one way.

Dictatorship - never communism.

Not necessarily communism, because that is a fiscal system. But definitely authoritarianism, which is how China and many other communist countries rule/keep control.

We are moving toward dictatorship. We are a banana republic.

"Authoritarianism"?

Hmmm. You mean like liberal/progressive ideas are so good, they need to be mandatory?!

No. Communism was discredited in Europe and will lessen its influence in China as the country becomes wealthier.

We are becoming populist along with most of the countries in Europe.

We live in an oligarchy, where monied interests like Comcast and Wall Street call the shots, coupled with an inept narcissist at the helm, and a congress too fearful of being unseated politically to actively challenge his transgressions. Redustricting has played a large role in a minority of the country wielding outside influence on our electoral system. Now we have climate change denial, abortion language tucked into a tax reform bill, net neutrality on the line among other problems. These are very scary times. It doesn't help that populist sentiment is spreading or that anti-intellectualism is de tiger.

Don't like Comcast? Stop watching NBC, MSNBC, and Telemundo.

Dictatorship/monarchy - like the old feudal lord system. There are a few Lords who answer to the King and the rest of us are serfs.

Nazism. t-rump just needs to start sporting a mustache. Sarah H. Sanders is his Goebbels--mistress of propaganda-- along with Paul Ryan and McConnell.

+1 China cast off its communist practices years ago. What remains is authoritarianism.

Perhaps you aren’t away of the new complaints of middle class Chinese parents that lessons on the communist party are taking away from STEM subjects. I read about this new phenomenom in coverage of the recent quinquennial party convention.
