Anyone hear about the Sackler billionaires?
Esquire had something about this. Can someone please post that link? |
The opioid epidemic was based on a mistake. Have you heard of thalidomide? |
Have you heard about the Sackler Opioid Connection? |
Big Pharma, I presume? |
Just one family in particular: the Sackler billionaires. |
http://www.esquire.com/news-politics/a12775932/sackler-family-oxycontin/ This article is blaming the opioid epidemic entirely upon the Sacklers. Sure, the drug company was aggressive in marketing (which is a separate issue in itself). But the idea that opioids aren't addictive when you're in pain, when you have no prior history of drug addiction, etc., that is the mistake I was referring to. A couple erroneous sentences in a couple medical journals, cited thousands of times. |
Thank you for the link. I think the author's twitter says this will be on NPR tomorrow. |
Scammy rehabs and methadone clinics, that is, just about all of them. |
Sacklers bear much of the guilt and should pay much of the cost of rehab. Many greedy doctors are also to blame.
|
Thank you! Everyone needs to have a look at this. |
God knows Sacklers can afford to pay everyone's rehab who wants it! |
Thalidomide was never approved for use because a brave woman in the FDA refused to approve it. Opiates were approved but the use was over prescribed because pharma did not do proper education to the doctors. They lies to doctors. |
Exactly. Thank you for speaking the truth. |
NPR - 11am today will be discussing this explosive investigation with Christopher Glazek. |
