| DW asked for monthly allowance so she didnt have to keep asking me for money all the time. She pays all of the house bills and kids’ bills with my credit card. The monthly payment is just spending money for her- so she can buy clothes, jewelry, entertainment, etc. We started at $7k 3 years ago and now she is saying her friends all get $10k a minth spending allowance. Our HHI exceeds 7 figures so going to $10k a month wouldnt make a difference. But I also wonder what in the world costs $10k a month. It seems excessive, no? |
Troll |
| I guess at your salary $10k isn't excessive, but is sure is a lot to me. I guess my question is why do you care what she spends it on? If you can afford to give her $10k a month in spending money does it really matter what she buys? |
| Uh huh. |
| she gets it all |
I guess it irritates me a little. With the shoes, clothes, bags, I feel like she thinks money grows on trees. |
|
Our budget gives $500 every two weeks.
That is for food and household products. |
| Why is anyone even bothering with obvious troll? Come on. “Pays the bills with my credit card”? Bags and shoes? Allowance? More dcum fan fic. |
| I think you're missing the point. She has needs, OP. Diamonds get dusty over time, and you can't trust anyone to clean them, so it makes more sense to put them in the safe and buy new, shiny ones. Same with the car. And the plane. |
+1 Troll |
| Seriously, she gets it all so what ever she wants to spend. Why should she have to ask or have an allowance? |
| She can go get a job. |
Or a pool boy. |
| Duh, she's socking it away so she can leave her misogynist husband. |
| It doesn’t sound unreasonable to me. $120K/yr. I’ve always thought parents that give up their careers to raise kids should earn some sort of salary. Call it her just in case money. She can spend it on clothes, shoes, bags, etc and she can put some away just in case she ever needs her own money. |
