That's a degree feel in grad school?

Journalism, my field, sadly, qualifies at this point.

Are you talking about public health? I don't have that degree, but I've known a lot of people who do, particularly those who work in Govt. You have to have a master's degree for lots of these entry level health related positions--MPH isn't that bad.

I had never heard of that degree before.

A lot of programs in Fine Arts...

A lot of programs in "dream job" areas that are not from the top school in the field and where jobs in the field are rare and usually go to someone with just a bachelor's and good connections (or a top MBA and good connections). For example, Sports Management.

Yeah, I work in an organization of about 600 people and the vast majority of us have an MPH. International health and development. Its a big field and its a standard degree requirement for entry. All job descriptions start with "MPH or equivalent degree required."

Apparently the one my son's girlfriend claims to have. Don't know in what but like her it means nothing on her 4 page resume. I guess if you have money to buy that degree you can be highly educated on paper yet be dumb as hell.

A Masters Degree in anything should get you better than part time working the front desk at a hotel. As much as she flaps those know it all gums she should be raking in the dough.

OUCH!

You don't like her very much.

Can't wait for the inevitable "my evil DIL doesn't include us in their family events" post.

None are worthless if you know how to conduct a job search.

I would say an MA in History is fairly useless without a specific specialization (ie Public History/Museums/Preservation), but is also a required degree to attain the PhD in History.
