Emory mom at it again, unnecessarily taking shots at WashU in a discussion that has nothing to do with WashU. You just couldn't help yourself, could you? |
I know a community college that produces the best plumbers. Their engineering program must be on par with MIT? |
Thanks. She committed to a great college. But, she will pick NU or Penn if she gets off the waitlist. |
Wishing all the best to you. I have a DD going to Northwestern and it looks to me based on IG that some new folks are getting in off the waitlist, but it's hard to tell. |
| I’ve read WL are generally moving slower and later for most schools this year. My kid is still hanging on to 2 HPYSM WL, after both had several cuts. Keeping the dream alive- lol! We do know 2 kids that got off in July and August last year. |
does anyone know stats here? is it a big wait-list year? lower than last year? |
| WLs 2026 are over. Maybe a few melts this summer but otherwise FINIS. |
Yeah, tell that to the 50 kids who got into Duke last year in August(!) I also know someone who, in a prior year, got into Yale on June 20. |
so overall less movement than last year? |
Duke was a very unique situation last year. They enlarged the class by 50 kids in August. It wasn't the typical situation of replacing kids who declined. |
False. |
AOs at several schools (T20/Ivies/20s) have stated they have not closed yet. Some schools have done WL cuts while keeping others on it as well. It’s different behavior than a few years ago. One told us they won’t close until August. |
Yes. Lower #s and more targeted. Less waves. Last year the visa issues had a big impact. |
| It's over. Only deniers hanging on. On to class of 2031. |
| post on reddit indicating some on Georgia Tech's waitlist are getting emails that the class is full. |
