I don't know. I personally haven't responded to any of the TS stuff here until now. I'd probably be making fun of Linkin Park and Korn stuff more if tons of people couldn't stop talking about them, but thankfully, most people grew out of it and moved on. I tried to understand the phenomenon of her but it seems like she's just got the celeb catnip thing dialed in real well in a pop culture generally devoid of anyone of quality.

I basically grew up with Taylor Swift's music. She's 34 and I'm 33. She's from Nashville and I grew up in Franklin, TN (~30 mins away). I went to several of her shows way back when after her debut album came out. I've been to all the tours. I'm a fan, etc, etc.

Wrong! many of the HS girls pulled an all nighter to listen to the double album and either skipped school on Friday or went in late – at least had our school.

In my neighborhood Taylor is a big hit with the elementary age girls and their moms and teachers.

Not much interest in middle school and definitely not in high school.

Eras tour attendance matched. Lots of elementary and then women in their 30s

That matches my experience. I know several coworkers in their 30s who took separately to their daughters to the eras tour shows and counted down to the album release. The daughters are all in elementary school.

I’m a HS teacher and lots of my students went to see her in Philly last year. Seniors, juniors, mostly girls.

My high school daughter and her friends went, and a ton of women in their 20s and 30s who I work with went as well.

Curious, what makes you think you are capable of assessing what is/isn't quality? Art is subjective. Evidence also suggests that your "understanding of the phenomenon of her" is your own, and that you're in the minority. But perhaps you find it trendy to hate on popular artists with your old gals sipping buttery chardonnay. Does it make you feel above it all and smarter than all of us? I'm not a huge fan of some other popular artists, but I would never ever suggest that their art (or other similar popular artists) is devoid of quality.
