Fairfax Virginia Union’s inaugural ECNL National League season will kick off this fall for the 2024-2025 seasonal year for both boys' and girls' teams from U13 to U19.

They are going from 2 ECNL-NL teams (Brave and VA Union) to one (Fairfax VA Union). A bunch of former ECNL-NL kids will have to try and get recruited from GA or ECNL-RL, which is a lot tougher than getting recruited from ECNL-NL.

Why is ECNL-RL harder than ECNL?

RL showcases don't generally have a lot of attendance and sometimes ECNL makes a dumb decision putting them near ECNL NL ones.

Can't wait to hear the coaching slate.
Who really is in control of this union?

This year: 5 ECNL + 1 GA. Next year: 4 ECNL + 3 GA. It’s not going to relegate kids, just re-shuffle and help the GA.

Coach Adam and TSJ folks should go play lotto tonight. They were dead in the water and the dummies at ECNL just revived their program for them! AB for the win!

FCV would be the last GA program to look at. At least SYC and Rev have coaches and facilities.

Sure. But this at least will get them some players.

Just wait until you have to buy a super y kit for one of the older clubs this summer and then also a kit for the new club for next year.

GA at SYC is going to be significantly harder to make now. Plenty of solid players at Brave and Union that will be looking for spots close by.

GA rising!

Specially the 2007/2006

They are almost done with the process. Worse for the 08s and 09s.....

MV will be the coach for 08 & 09

The coaching slate will be telling. I think top players will make their determination of whether to stay or go based on the coaching slate.

Virginia Fairfax Union: BRYC, McLean, and VYS. This Northern Virginia landscape is hilarious.

Fairfax vs Arlington vs Loudoun vs PWC

ITS CONFIRMED!

Word on the street is that this announcement was delayed because the Union ECNL boys leadership were not consulted throughout the process and only found out this week. They fought to prevent this partnership but the league scared the board into making this move. Their best coaches (assuming JW and AP) are not going to be in the coaching lineup for FVU. If true that is a big blow to this program as they have been the only coaches with any history of success over the last 10 years (winning the only MYS boys National Championship). Coaches and players should find better clubs. Like always MYS only cares about the girls program and once again MYS is willing to lose it's best boys coaches to be replaced by Brave coaches. Ask German and many other coaches how they ended up at Arlington. RIP McLean legacy.

I wonder if FCV VRSC and SYC will push back tryouts. An awful lot of ENCL players are going to be looking for new teams
