Much as been made over the years about CMI's whitewashed (sort of) website. I know I complained about it. Well, guess what? Looks like they finally got around to changing the pictures and the site looks great. The photos are really representative of the diverse faculty, staff and student body. They even feature an Asian family in one of the photos and people ALWAYS leave out Asians when seeking to appear "diverse". Kudos to CMI! I personally think the school has a lot of shortcomings and isn't all it is cracked up to be, and am VERY happy to have left, as are other parents whom I have encountered that left, but they are trying. It is an adequate option if your child is a typical learner and is in second grade or below.

| It does look good! Great new site. |
Glad you enjoyed the play, Mrs. Lincoln. |
| Such a trolling post. Well done. |
| Wow...just wow. If you are who I think you are, we're happy you left. |
+1 |
Why all the wows? OP didn't slander the school. Stop being so defensive. |

We are a family who left CMI recently and it is (with a doubt) one of the most amazing, fantastic, special places. I don't know the OP (who left), but I wanted to say as another family who left the school - we miss the close relationships and wonderful warm place CMI is.
Every school has things they are working on and CMI does its best to address them (see fixing the website). It's a great place! |
so annoying when people think they know who is posting. Basically, you suspect peopel you don't like of writing the posts you don't like. |
Same. We miss our cmi family every day. Such a special Place. |
When you know ppl well, you can tell their speech patterns. |
As a veteran of parent listservs, I believe PP. Sometimes it is obvious. |
| I do not understand these posts. If CMI is so great and you miss it so much, why did you leave? Nobody is leaving a great place because of a crappy website so for all of you u who say it is such a special and amazing place - why did you leave? |
My child has SN and could no longer be mainstreamed, even with many supports. CMI did all they could to support our child but their needs were beyond what any mainstream school could provide. |
We moved out of DC. |
