To the Obnoxious U9 Parent at Soccerplex this morning

Thank you for being so douchy. I really loved using your unkind words to teach my 8yo a lesson this morning. Can you please check yourself? Yes your team beat our team, but YOU, dad to a little girl who seemed really sweet, are a jerk.

Did you say something in the moment, OP?
If someone is rude, I'm generally so surprised I can't find anything to say. Of course as soon as the person leaves, a ton of comments spring to mind

please share...Love Douch bashing.

Tiger dad correcting the other players and then gloating on the win, is this what happened?

Oh, you brave keyboard warrior, you! I bet you thought and thought about how you were going to post on DCUM instead of just dealing with it on the spot. You go, girl!

Why didn't you speak to the man in real life? What does does posting this do?

I think the OP is just venting. Nothing wrong and if you don't like, move on.

+1

Did you say something at the time, OP? You really think a guy likes that is reading this here?

The lesson that you need to teach your kid is to address incidents when they happen. Don't teach your kid to go onto the internet or social media to complain after the fact.

What your kid learned was that you won't protect her in the moment. You'd rather take care of it later on your keyboard.

I grew up in NY and generally do not have any difficulty in calling some one out, but words evaded me. I just didn't know what would be appropriate.
This sad sack was telling his daughter that eventually they will play a team that wasn't so terrible.
In direct earshot of a handful of said terrible.

I did not want to make a scene, the guy is clearly a loser.

It's an obnoxious thing to say, but I would not take it to heart. Move on and forget about it. I have an 8 year old son, and if he overheard a parent saying this about his team, he would be able to shake it off. I bet your daughter has too.

It's a vent, but thank you for your opinion.

Words are easy for that one. "That wan't a nice thing to say in front of these kids" and move on. He was speaking to his own daughter so you don't really have a dog in this fight. It wasn't a kind thing to say but just let it go.

Say something in real life.

This is what these teams are like and will continue to be like. In fact, it will get a lot worse. So either deal and talk to your kid about it or opt out.

OP, I'm sure your DD has moved on...like 5 minutes after it happened.
