Janney In-Bound Pk3?

Anonymous
Anyone know what percentage of in-bound Janney applicants got into PK3 this year?

Into PK-3 where? Janney doesn't have pre-K. I don't think they keep stats of admission for kids who "will later be zoned for Janney but aren't now"? What would be the point of those stats?

0%. Janney doesn't have inbound pk3

^^ Sorry, Janney doesn't have PK-3 is what I meant.

Everyone who applied got in. Same at the other WOTP ES. You should do some research.

Are you not counting Hyde as a WOTP school?

This feels like a surrealist nonsense thread.

No PK3 at Janney.
Many in-bounds kids did not get in for PK4.

Imagine what it must be like to have preK for your 3-year-old.

Still, we can't complain. We're better off than the MoCo schools across Western Avenue who pack 28 kids into a classroom and don't have preK, period.

The question the OB really wants to know is ...... what % of IB PreK 4 without sibling got into PK4.

They did not realize not only will there not be a slot for PK3, but there is a strong chance that they will not get in for PK4 either.

You still have preK for your kid, just not at Janney. You choose to not use it.

Is it true that MoCo schools across western put 28 kids in a classroom? I'm not sure that is true, but just a DCUM rumor.

Some years yes. The threshold for a new class is 28, but if there are late enrollments the classes can bulge to 29 or 30.

Yup. There are around 30 IB kids still on the waitlist, which has moved less than ten spots since the lottery. We are staying another year at the school where we did PK3, which Janney doesn't offer.

Janney also has years where there are 28 kids in a class, there's been lots of threads discussing this. Some Montgomery county schools have as few as 18 kids on a class, it depends on the school and the enrollment dynamics in a given year.
