Husband wants to go out last minute

Anonymous
We were chilling out drinking wine on the sofa. He gets a call from a friend whose visiting from out of town. He tells me he's going out. I'm upset because it wasn't planned. I also don't care for this friend. This friend created lot's of drama. His friend hosted a stripper party at his house a while back. His friends wife found out and they moved away shortly after that. We have a toddler now. I always plan things in advanced because I think it's the right thing to do. Am I overreacting?

Obviously.

I found a new hair cream I want to try. I also had a nice chicken dinner.

Of course he shouldn't miss seeing a friend from out of town just because it wasn't planned in advance! Sure, it's better to try to make plans, but life happens. I would say the same thing if it was your friend.

I'm like you, hate last minute plans and changes, but not everyone is that way. Treat yourself to a nice glass of wine and watch something he normally would not watch. He will be happy he gets to spend some time with his friend and pay you back x2.

My wife would love that. Stuck on the couch with me and then I get a call...and leave. She'd be in TV heaven.

OP, you just don't like his friend. This has nothing to do with not planning.

I don't think I'm mad that he's going out. It's just this friend is so sleazy and he doesn't even like him. He talks shit about him a lot. I'm going to be out of town for a few weeks soon. I thought he would rather spend time with me because I am leaving. He mentioned his friend was coming to visit a few days ago. I didn't know it was this loser. He also emptied the wine and took the car! I've got nothing and I don't watch TV usually. I'll try to find something to watch.

Unless you are leaving tomorrow, he has no obligation to spend the evening with you.

What does it mean that he emptied the wine? If you mean that he drank the whole bottle and then took the car, then that's what you should be concerned. If you mean that he emptied it into the sink, that's obnoxious and, again, you're upset about the wrong thing.

You should be able to figure out how to entertain yourself for an evening even if you don't watch TV.

Nope. I'm sipping on a kids protein shake. I've got nothing. We were talking about getting more wine when his friend called. I told to have fun with the stripper's.

If only there were things a woman could do to divert a man from his plan to leave the house... but what could they be?

Ugh. If I was your neighbor, I would invite you over. We are always fully stocked.
