Maryland's Flag is Half Confederate!

I totally disagree. A statue of the justice who authored the Dred Scott decision? That clearly needed to go a long time ago. The flag, no. The combinations on the flag were meant to promote reconciliation and unity. Leave the Maryland flag alone.

It's an ugly flag but not a symbol of oppression ias nobody's aware of it's origins. Since the red/white and black/gold appear together in equal proportion, it makes me think that the flag was trying to bring sides together like Georgetown's the blue and gray.

Frankly it looks like an ad for mid evil times, but let's not waste the time and money to change it.

Really? You think it's ugly? I'm not from Maryland but I don't really think it's ugly. I do find it strange that the flag is everywhere! Crab bumper stickers. Bikinis. I've lived in 4 other states and I could not even tell you what their flags looked like. At least Marylanders are aware of their state flag?

Jancewicz sounds like he's pretty serious about this campaign to get rid of the flag though. How is this different from the Confeserate statues that need to come down?

Exactly. Just because some Confederates briefly adopted the Crossland portion only doesn't make the flag Confederate.
