DH loves the name Trixie for Beatrice. He hates the spelling Beatrix.
Any thoughts about this nickname or name associations? |

Trixie is fine as a nickname for Beatrice. It's not my favorite name, but it's cute for a little girl. Beatrice is a fine name. I know a couple, both adults and children. Most go by Bea.
As for associations, I think of Beatrice Potter. Trixie does seem like a name you might give your dog. |
| I work with a woman named Beatrice. She's German. Nobody calls her Trixie. |
| Beatrice/Beatrix is popular in my hip, grandma/grandpa name loving crowd. Trixie is unexpected, but cute for a little kid. Go for it! |
| It's the little girl from Knuffle Bunny! Cute name. |
| We have Beatrix and thought she would be Trixie but it didn't work for us. It sound a bit like a dog's name, but we still think it's cute and acceptable. I wouldn't think of it as a nickname for Beatrice though. |
| Tricia is a little dogname / strippery to me. But Beatrice is lovely |
OP here. it's not Tricia, it's Trixie. |
Oh sorry, typed Trixie and autocorrect must have weighed in (just did it again and it again switched to Tricia). I meant Trixie. |

Love Trixie! When I was a little girl I read a series about a girl detective named Trixie Belden.
I like that it's unique and no one else will have the name but it's not too "out there." |
| What? No. It sounds like a dog name. This is as bad as the person who posted Kyzer a little while ago. |
| Trixie Belden! Best book series ever. Love it. I wouldn't worry about having an x in Beatrice to match Trixie. |
PP, you're in for a treat when you read the picture books about Knuffle Bunny. Be warned that the last one might make you cry, though. Not your child; just you. |
| +1 on it sounding like a stripper name |
| I like it, it makes me think of the cute one in Call the Midwife. |
