I have 3 associations. 1. Problem Child 2 2. Chad and Trixie (Chicago slang) 3. Knuffle Bunny |
Except she was Beatrix Potter, not Beatrice. I think trixie belongs with Beatrix and Tricia belongs with Beatrice, but I'm a purist. |
|
Adorable as long as you're not in the Chicago area. It has a pejorative association there: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trixie_(slang)
|
| I know several people with dogs named trixie, but it's cute and if you name her Patricia- nickname Trixie, that would work. She would be able to go with Tricia, Patricia or Patty if she ever wanted to be called something other than Trixie. or Beatrice is pretty. |
| A friend of mine used Trixie as a middle name for her daughter. Her father (the grandfather) was outraged and asked why she would give his first grandchild a whore's name. She didn't change it. They all get along fine. |
Did she ask her father how he knows whores' names? |
She didn't mention it, but it's possible. She just told him there should be no problem, just call the kid by the first name. |
Loved those books! And loved how her best friend would say, "How's Trix?" |
| I'm probably in the minority here, but I instantly think of Trixie Mattell from RuPaul's Drag Race. |
| Stripper dog |
|
I love Trixie as a nn! Personally, I would spell it Beatrix but, I suppose Beatrice would be fine.
I was thinking of this for my DD but, went with another name. Nice choice!! |
OP here. Not interested in Patricia at all. Tricia is a nn for Patricia. I personally like Bea a lot. Beatrice is a very strong woman's name. I always liked the character in Shakespeare and she was the inspiration for Dante. |
I do too, because of this: "I am Bea I drink tea Won't you dance around with me" |
| I think it's terrible, stripper name / Trixie, Bambi, and Candi work at the same club |
| If you are pregnant with a chihuahua or some other little yippy dog then go for it. |
