Do you typically take it upon yourself to tell thin people they look like "skeletons" and must have eating disorders? Curious - how do you feel about people telling you you're overweight and need to drop some pounds?

Wouldn't know, because I'm a healthy weight and my female bosses give me clothes they can no longer wear. But I can recognize anorexia when I see it.

The only thing it's making me aware of is to be even more careful not to disclose any details about health or mental health so that people won't speculate.

Anyone want to hear my guess as to what's going on? Wonderful, so glad you're interested.

Kate had some sort of ... stomach surgery. Intestinal. Large, obviously. Maybe the colon was also involved, who knows. The whole surgery resulted in her needing a colostomy bag. Originally she was going to come back to work after Easter. But they are going to give her a second surgery to fix things inside so she'll no longer need a colostomy bag and that's why now she's off until June. A colostomy bag would explain why she's not being seen in public, why she used an old picture, etc.

this actually sounds reasonable. and i undersatnd why she doesn't want the whole world to see her with a colostomy bag. despite what people think she is entitled to some privacy around medical issues.
