LinkedIn has a tool for premium subscriptions that enables you to look at an overview of all the alumni who have attended a particular college/university. It also lists the six colleges or university said school is most similar to in terms of where alumni end up. Here are some schools I've looked up- lots of expected things, but some unexpected things as well. Have a college in mind that hasn't been looked into? Post it here and I'll tell you what the six most similar schools are.

Kudos to Williams. All six schools are Ivies, including HYP. I always knew that their outcomes were phenomenal, but this data definitely backs it up. Surprised that they're unknown by 95% of the general population. Amherst is right up there with five Ivies including HYP and the Ivy-LAC Williams.
It seems that geography plays a large role in determining which colleges are similar. You see Georgetown with American, UNC with Duke, Hopkins with UMD, Swarthmore with Haverford, and Carleton with St. Olaf. Two surprises include Pomona and Claremont McKenna. Pomona's closest school by distance is Stanford, more than 350 miles away. None of CMC's similar schools are on the West Coast- in fact, they're all on the East Coast. Surprised that none of the Ivies show up with Wellesley. What is up with Furman and Colorado showing up with Middlebury? |
