Curious which colleges are similar in alumni outcomes?

You're right, it doesn't specify in particular, but I thought it'd be logical to assume it's based off outcomes given that each school page shows where alumni live and work. That could definitely be inaccurate, however.

What it does show is the people who visited the alumni profile page say for Vanderbilt also viewed the profiles for the other six schools listed. That's very different from saying it shows similarity of outcomes.

Really? That would be very different. This is what I see when I go on each school. Could you show where it says the similar schools are based off which schools are also looked into?

The list of "similar universities" on the right is same as the one that is "most viewed" on the main page. I don't think what you are looking at is not similarity of outcomes, but similar in that these universities attract the interest of the same kinds of students.

That being said, there are longitudinal studies that do show the differences in outcomes among schools, although it is a question whether the outcome is a result of the school or what the student had coming in.

Thank you for clarifying. I apologize for the incorrect assumption- I must have missed that it was just based on which schools were viewed. You're right, the link on the main page specifies "People also viewed" and gives these six colleges.

Sorry about that. It has next to nothing to do with alumni outcomes.
