What can I watch on HBO during maternity leave

Anonymous
We temporarily have HBO while my DH watches GoT. My maternity leave starts next week. What should I watch? I don't care for GoT or anything violent, really. We did just watch Big Little Lies, which I really enjoyed (and which contradicts my last sentence). What else should I watch? I plan to watch Call the Midwife, as an example of what I enjoy (not on HBO, but on my watch list!).

The first couple seasons of True Blood are very entertaining! Then it gets weird. But it's super sexy and fun. I can't do violence and gore but found true blood to be great.

I haven't watched it myself, but another thread gave a heads up that someone with a newborn baby might not want to watch Call the Midwife because they're not always happy endings.

OP here. thanks for the warning! I've watched most of it but have saved the most recent season for my leave. I know the risks involved.

Six Feet Under - older, but one of my favorite shows ever.

Both so funny. Also I really liked the Brink and am so mad they cancelled it.

Divorce was good, one season so far. And it was a show I knew I didn't have to save for DH.

I hated silicon Valley. I don't find that dry passive humor entertaining. I get annoyed by it.

Silicon Valley and Ballers are our favorites. Also, not on HBO, but we love Last Man on Earth.

In no particular order:

The Wire
Veep
Sex and the City
True Blood (it did get weird later on)
True Detective (first season)
Six Feet Under
Girls
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Newsroom
The Night Of
John Adams
Big Love

If you're looking for the most mindless (I watched a lot of HGTV on maternity leave), then I'd skip The Wire and John Adams.

In addition to all those mentioned, I loved Togetherness. Only lasted 2 seasons but it was really well done and so real.

Honestly, I'd watch any of the Chris Lillie shows:
Angry Boys
Ja'mie: Private School Girl
Jonah from Tonga (2014)

They are mindless and a good veg-out (no brainwork) option.
