SYC

No idea. Este said offers for 2008B and 2011B were being made on a rolling basis. That said, I do not know any returning 2008B players (and my DS has friends on all four teams) that have received an offer. They are also expanding the rising U12 and U9 boys groups to 5 deep.

Time to move on. BRYC will keep any and all.

We left BRYC a few years ago. I really did want it to be good because we had heard so many good things about the club. It was a terrible experience. Punt and run soccer, big athletic kids played the top team vs more technical players, coaches bait and switch and the ECNL nightmare..dont miss them one bit.

if they are making a 5th team at one of the age groups I guess bonuses all around

I thought I read they will all train together..that might get a bit crazy with 60+ kids for one age group.

And it is five teams for at least two age groups (U9B and U12B). Not sure what is happening in the other age groups or on the girls' side.

SYC won this battle poor LMV won't have many bonuses this year

I while ago I posted a theory about St. James coming after SYC and other local Fairfax county youth soccer talent. Many thought it was far-fetched. What do you think now?

In the email communicating this info Este also confirmed that offers are being made 'on a rolling basis' but that all teams will train at the same time/location and that there will be opportunities for players to play in different teams within an age group (I find it doubtful that will happen but maybe I'll be proved wrong).

Wondering if all those defections are from LMVSC? For the 2018 season there were 4 U11B teams (I think maxed at 12) and I believe they just had 2 U9B teams.

Alexandria has 5 teams for most age groups, they practice at the same time and scrimmage each other at the end each practice. Similar to Arlington!

This may be a challenge to some small clubs. Gunston and LMVSC should have sold out while they had the chance. Too much ego gets in the way good business decisions with both clubs.

I wonder if the couple coaches that left SYC to LMVSC are reconsidering their decision. Guess what they offered was worth it, but by the sound of it SYC is picking up more than just a few kids if they are adding even more coaches than originally projected.

lol, but they do want their field space. One field won't be enough space. A multi million dollar facility will need to generate a lot more money than an FCV, LMVSC, Gunston would generate. Fields will be key.
