What I like is that when you see them practicing, you can tell what they are being taught. Lots of times, U9 isn't very well coached, but at Barca, they are. They are all learning the same style.

This team just won the top bracket of Battlefield tournament. http://events.gotsport.com/events/results.aspx?EventID=66209&GroupID=732778&Gender=Boys&Age=9 With the training they get they will only get better.

Wow!! With scorelines like that, maybe that's why U9s are getting played up in some tournaments. I'm very impressed.

09s were being played up. This group (U9) isn't the same - they are 2010s.

This team is mostly 2010s with a couple of 2011s.

How was the Battlefield? Any teams that played particularly well?

Barca had 5 teams in. I thought they held their own. Not every team won every game, but they played good soccer. That's one thing I like seeing: just good quality soccer.

What did you guys think about Villarreal? They had a couple teams in the U18-19 brackets, including a matchup vs Barça
Anonymous
I did not see them play. Btw, Barca sent its C team in that age group.

Were the A and B teams playing elsewhere?

I don't know, but their top 2001 teams were not in this tournament. Their 2003s top team had a week-end off, so they may have done the same for 2001s.

What are the team names and levels so we can review the results online?

You can get to all the teams from http://maps.gotsport.com/clubsite/LeagueDir.aspx?EventID=67069&ClubDirectorID=27917
There is no standard team color naming ie blue may be the top team in one age but Garnett in another age. But you can usually click through and figure out which is which

Not too worried about comparing alphabets, just wondering if anyone had any opinions on style of play. The 01s that were playing are clearly not at Garnet’s level, but they had some decent passages of play and the games were entertaining.

03s games were competitive and they probably won on time of possession but couldn’t score goals.

The style is clearly possession, building out of the back, and I think they foster creativity too. They do a good job of teaching the guys to balance between carrying the ball some but also finding a solid pass to a teammate.
