The democrats have been colluding to shove it all there for over a decade. AND THE (D) candidates are on record saying, that while not ideal, should continue, and that park land is fair game.

The board can make as many plans as they like, but that have to be funded. Those that develope AH do it on our dime as a loan. We don't have to give that money away.

An unscientific test of who S Arlingtonians should consider an ally might be to see which candidate they're leaning towards in N arlington. I don't know the answer to that, but to the extent the interests are divergent between N and S (also a big assumption), it's probably worth seeing who the other side is endorsing.

Look, I am a north Arlington Democrat who wants more affordable housing put in north Arlington because those schools have less than 10% FARMs kids, in general, and have more resources than south aelington schools right now to deal with them. The democratic candidates support cramming more affordable housing in poorer areas, to the detriment of south arlingron schools. Who am I supposed to vote for, besides McMenamin?

I wouldn't assume that because someone lives north of 50, they have different desires as a south Arlington homeowner. It seems a more informative comparison would age and education level.
What do 35-45 year college educated homeowners on each side of the county think?

And we need to be strategic! Just putting affordable housing in Halls Hill or in the Key ES district will not help towards achieving better integrated schools and neighborhoods either.

Yep. It's not going to be easy, and there might be the top part of 22207 that it just doesn't really work, but we can do so much more than what is happening now.

Glebe is the only school in that part of the county with a significant FARMs population. Glebe is the neighborhood school for Halls Hill.

Yes. That has been addressed upthread.
Many of the people in Arlington's affordable housing are happy with the status quo and would like to have cheap housing, where they feel most comfortable, keep their children with like children, as the majority in their local school, and not integrate into the county.

There are too many reasons not to be sympathetic to that viewpoint to list.

Exactly. For one generation to feel comfortable, they are compromising future generations. That desire to be comfortable is incredibly short-sighted, and is detrimental to society as a whole. I'll just leave this here:
