The thread asked things you secretly oppose. People oppose it. Other than a few kooks, no one is trying to legislate it away, and no one IRL is going to say anything to you. Let. it. go.

it's not about people opposing, it is that rationales given are often ridiculous. what's the point of these confessions if we are not going to comment on them.

That's why it does no good. Ears and minds are closed, so what's the point (other than eventual name calling)? Every has a valid opinion (to them). Let's just leave it at that.

Judgmental bigots like this one. They are always the least informed, most ignorant among us. Get out of your narrow, bigotted world, PP.

And birds? You hate birds? You deserve to be pilloried as an idiot just for that.

I'm not PP, but I hate birds. I was on a social network where several of the members posted dicture of their stupid bids and wrote about their birds. Their pictures included birds standing on their children's heads, standing on people's shoulders (parrots) birds walking around freely in people's homes. After awhile, I just dropped out of the group. I loved the people in a lot of other ways--but the excessive fetishization of the birds sickened me. I throw gravel at the birds in my neighbor's feeder because, foookin' birds, man! Who cares?

They posted pictures of their birds. Not dicture. Well, there was some dick-ture...but that's another story for another time.

+1 Absolutely

Went to a baby shower recently and the sister of the mom to be had one kid and was mentioning how she couldn't afford daycare so stays at home, but was trying for another kid...we're in Texas. A decent daycare would run around $125-$200 a week of which you can't afford, but you can afford a kid which is more expensive?? Oh yes, I guess the Food Stamp card you get at least will pay for the food.

You are an asshole! You get to sleep peacefully at night because of "those enlisted"! You should go and see "those enlisted" over at Walter Reed Medical Center with no arms/legs; then come back and let us know if they don't deserve some "troop love". Would you have felt the same if your child joined?

I'm pp. I forgot to add that I am a democrat and progressive but geez, public assistance should be temporary. Not for a lifetime.

I oppose baby showers after the first child.

+1. I'm liberal as hell and I can absolutely sympathize with a family falling on hard times, but when you see 3rd, 4th, 5th generations of families on welfare I just don't get it. What happened to these people's sense of ambition?

This is true. The reason make up 'works' to make a woman appear "attractive" is because it mimics the appearance of a young, fertile and sexually aroused woman who is ready for action. Ditto high heels. Think about the word "attractive". It's become the norm so nobody thinks about it anymore, but a hundred years ago, only whores and actresses wore make up.

They never had any. Some people don't, you know.

Newsflash: everyone knows you feel this way because you're a pompous asshole who was born on third base and think you hit a home run. You don't try to hide your bullshit "opinions" you allude to them constantly in conversation. People laugh at your cluelessness about your own shortcomings behind your back.

Since when is letting a pet bird come out if the cage to sit on your shoulder or walk around the house "excessive fetishization" of birds? You let your cat or dog walk around your house.

Your loss. Birds are smart and very social.
