Well, and I mean also, she's the opposite of Taylor. Definitely not the girl next door. |
Imagine hating Taylor so much that you defend a woman you've never seen, let alone listened to. |
|
Charli is a white Brit. Her dad is white, her mom is light skinned Indian decent.
She is not black or brown. Give it a rest with the race angle. |
Actually, Charlie’s mother is a dark skinned Indian woman that would probably be mistaken for a black person in the States. |
| The idea that a White woman cannot clap back at a hayer who is non-White is absurd. And Charlie XCX is White herself. |

I don't know that anyone has been saying "poor Charli" in this. More that we are tired of seeing women tearing each other down in general, and that Taylor's song tears Charli down (literally compares her to a yappy dog) whereas Charli's song did not.
Whatever has happened behind closed doors is none of my business and I'd like to stay that way -- I think it is tacky to drag your personal beefs out in public and try to get people to pick sides because I don't know either of these women. The whole point is that prior to Actually Romantic, no one was talking about TAYLOR V. CHARLI and now it's a hot topic, and that is Taylor's doing and therefore I resent it because ugh, no one needs this. I don't care what the say/do about each other out of the public eye. Whatever. |
"Clapping back" is a childish thing to do. That's the whole point. I feel the same way about any "response" from Charli at this point. Grow the eff up. These women are in their 30s. If the have personal issues due to behavior in their private lives, they should solve those things privately, not try and get the public to vote. Gross. If the whole thing was for attention and streaming numbers, it's even worse. I have no respect for anyone involved in this. |
The music business is full of people feuding through lyrics, and also beyond lyrics on social media, at shows... Not sure why she's expected to rise above when she is doing a fraction of the beef others are doing. It's also not serious or deep. |
Have you ever given a thought to song lyrics before in your life or just now when it’s Taylor doing something you just found out about? Why now? |
|
Oh please. I can’t believe anyone actually thinks Actually Romantic is a response to Sympathy is a Knife.
It’s a response to the fact that Taylor thought she and Charli were friends, or friendly at least, and then she finds out from mutuals that Charli was shit talking her behind her back in their wider friendship circle and that she was instrumental in discouraging Matty Healy from dating her/getting back together with her summer of ‘23. FYI, Charli is married to Matty’s close friend and bandmade and she is the one who introduced him to his current fiancé like 2 minutes after he dumped Taylor. So Charli would have had plenty of opportunity to be a bug in Matty’s ear about Taylor. That’s what Taylor is really mad about. It’s not about being called “boring Barbie” or whatever. It’s the fact that she “high fives her ex after he ghosted her.” And I do think it’s pretty shitty that Charli would push Gabbriette on him because Taylor makes HER feel small and insecure. |
I think it's BS that male artists can say whatever they want (ahem...Kendrick Lamar) and are celebrated for a diss track that hits, but women are preached at to stop "tearing each other down". Tired of women artists being held to a much higher standard. Just so tired of it. |
Zach Bryan beats women left and right. His team tried to pay off his ex-girlfriend $12 million so she would sign an NDA. Your misogyny is showing and it’s truly gross. |
Comments like these is why people think some of you are in a cult of personality.Whi the hell are these young artists she's supposedly helped ??? I swear some of you aren't capable of embarrassment . |
