The only Super Bowl I have ever watched was 1986 but my ex and his girlfriend who are both MAGAs had a Super Bowl party last night.
They were supposedly apoplectic when they wanted to turn off the half-time show and try to make everyone watch their laptop for the "real American half time show" Half his practice is made up of people (making up most of the forced guests) from the DR and they were all needing to use the bathroom or just flat out having "home emergencies" they needed to attend to and leave the party. |
As someone who is a country music fan, I still find it weird. Lyrics ARE what I like about music, so I gravitate towards stuff like country (and show tunes), but I understand that that's not universal. |

The show was amazing. A tribute to everything that the US claims to be. Very wholesome.
That being said, I don't care for his music and dont speak spanish. But I can recognize a great show when I see it. |
Well, you can go listen to Taylor Swift talk about who had the key to opening her thighs instead. That is on her latest “album” The Life of a Cheeseball. |
Are you ok? |
You forgot Shakira, who is probably closest to Bad Bunny. She is from Colombia. I don’t know why MAGA even thinks it gets to have an opinion. Didn’t they make a huge stink about quitting the NFL when Kaepernick took a knee? The Super Bowl isn’t for them. The Super Bowl is for people who love America. |
Same. The international audience is pretty tickled. He showed the ugliness of Trump policies without mentioning Trump. Great use of what was not shown. I hate all modern music so sorry BB! But I loved the show. |
| Many Latinos complained they didn’t understand the lyrics. The Puerto Rican dialect is different |
It was a good show. High energy and appealed to a bunch of different demographics. He clearly put a lot of thought into the messages sent, from the shout out to God Bless America (listing ALL the Americas, from Canada to the USA to Brazil), the "only thing stronger than love is hate." I watched it with my kids and thought it was great. |
+1 They must hate the World Cup where they play Pavarotti's Nessun Dorma constantly. Or is that ok because it's opera, and opera is ok for white people, even if it's in other languages? |
I'm fine, I just thought it was funny. I didn't even know he was having a party until my son told me this morning that everyone left after he pulled that stunt. My son used to work for his dad so he knows a lot of the people who quietly exited stage left. The scuttlebutt is that everyone knows he's getting ready to retire and fewer and fewer people care every ongoing year about blowing smoke up his donkey. On the other hand, are you ok? You seem triggered. |
+1 Stupid. New Mexico is relatively new but you are not pooping all over New Mexicans. |
|
I understood the message of joy, history, the embracing of our multiple cultures, and celebration of PR, the US, and the Americas.
I didn’t understand the lyrics but inals didn’t understand Green Day’s lyrics or Lady Gaga’s lyrics. But you can vibe and understand even if you don’t catch the words. Great show! |
I find it amusing that people complain about his music because he sings in Spanish which they don't understand. Hell, I can't understand the lyrics of most English-speaking singers these days but it doesn't stop me from appreciating their music.

There was a lot of thought that went into the Bad Bunny show. Lots of elements embedded about Latino culture/history, but he was careful not to be too "political" so the MAGA didn't scream. I'm not Latino, so I didn't pick up on everything, but if the posters here would read the New York Times or LA Times and read about the various messages embedded into the show, rather than "quoting a Latino they saw on YouTube who hated it," they might actually learn something. |
