Agreed. I don't love RFK, but I like that he asks questions about what's wrong with the food supply. Even lab rats gain weight on a modern diet with controlled calories.

As for the vaccines, we got the low-hanging fruit years ago. The polio and MMR vaccines are absolute gifts to the modern world. Vaccinating for Hep B is questionable. Unfortunately, public health officials sacrificed their credibility by repeatedly lying during COVID, so the anti-vax movement has some basis in truth.

The best solution is to reinforce standards, but people won't like those outcomes because standards require removing all sorts of unqualified people.

Vaccines have this almost totemic power over people. People will stuff their kids with sugar, plop them in front of screens all day long, and shuffle them around in a car everywhere but think they'll be just fine if they just get a few more shots.

What do you drink to come up with this?

Most folks I know limit or prohibit their kids' sugar intake, ditto for screens, and have them out on bikes or walking whenever possible. Vaccines are for herd immunity as well as personal health.

Alzheimer’s is a HUGE drain on the world’s medical resources. It’s going to be a crisis within our lifetimes with the aging populations and lack of population growth/low birth rates of many countries. Yes, researchers are absolutely looking for a cure. They’re also researching prevention and better treatments to slow the progression of the disease, if a cure isn’t possible right now.

Technology involving mRNA could be used to target beta amyloid protein accumulations, preventing Alzheimers but instead we got a guy who had a parasitic worm eat part of his brain and die inside of him, who doesn't understand how vaccines work and who spread false info that got dozens of kids killed to run the show.

Do you realize that the COVID vaccine is not the only one out there? What happened with how you have lost all common sense on this? RFK Jr opposed childhood vaccines PRIOR to the advent of COVID. Many people opposing his nom are focused on THAT, not the COVID vax. Are you aware that men can become sterile through contracting mumps, that some people die from measles or bear horrible scars from contracting it? Did your family across generations never discuss people whom they knew with polio, some dying, some crippled for life?

No one promised that the COVID vaccine was going to stop ALL infection/transmission. If one is vaxxed, then the chances are that the person will experience much milder symptoms if they contract, might not be at risk for long COVID, and may be less likely to transmit if a mild case.

Is it a conspiracy to predict that if they ever "cure" Alzheimer's it will be with a daily pill?

So what if it is? People take daily insulin for T1D. Daily statins for high cholesterol. Daily meds to keep their HIV levels undetectable. People are on long term chemo for advanced stage cancer and it can keep them alive and with a good quality of life for years longer than in the past. If it takes a daily pill to keep Great Aunt Millie out of the $$$ nursing home and in her own home - that’s a huge breakthrough, is it not?

You're basically making my points for me. Modern medicine is much less interested in "curing" people than in treating them. T1D for instance: feeding people insulin is much more profitable than fixing the underlying autoimmune issue. From what I can tell no one even really knows what causes the autoimmune reaction, and there isn't much research into figuring it out. Why would they when they have a customer for life?
