I'd rather play the teams listed above than play Bishop McNamara, Ireton, O'Connell, Good Counsel, and Saint Mary's Ryken (the bottom half of the WCAC is just bad lacrosse), Wes knows he doesn't have nearly the same squad as he did last year and it shows in their schedule this Spring. Where is McDonogh or Saint Mary's?

Unfortunately those are league teams. I’d say 3 of the 5 would smoke any IAC team in football and 4 of the 5 in basketball. You got to take the good with the bad. What other sports is the IAC good in? Boys field hockey?

This is hilarious. Do better next time. Which three of those WCAC teams would smoke any IAC team in football? Remember, they often play each other and scores are easily found. Nice try though. It certainly sounded like a great post when you were typing it, I'm sure.

You’re kidding about football right? Gonzaga no longer plays Prep because it wasn’t competitive. SJC, GC, and DeMatha would dominate any IAC team.

Well, the IAC is overwhelmingly better at academics, so there's that...

Catholic WCAC schools are better at sending kids to heaven... ya know- the entire purpose of us being here.

So now we're back to 'God bleeds purple' again?

where is Prep, they played last year? Prep brings back their entire team.

have fun playing ireton, o'connell, and ryken.

They play the best in the IAC and St. Anthony’s who is better than Prep. Nice try. Have fun playing St. James, St. Albans, Episcopal and Landon. 🥴

SJC can’t help it that the best from the MIAA, St Marys and McDonogh refuse to play them.

Good back to lacrosse. Tell us more about STA and that wonderful senior class and how they finally win the IAC this year.

Didn’t even know IAC played FB. Lol Have they ever had a team recognized on the national level? Last time I remember seeing any WCAC team playing them was a few years back. Gonzaga destroyed Prep that year. Probably why the WCAC teams don’t waste their time. Little sisters of the poor.

It's why most people from the WCAC work for those who graduated from IAC schools.

They have done pretty well with colleges signings even if they don’t win much. Still. A great LSM, FOGO, attack and a couple other players might give some people some problems, especially if the younger guys can play enough to keep them fresh.

Look, I was responding to a PP who claimed BI, Oconnell, St. Mary's Ryken, McNamara and one other bottom feeder WCAC school would smoke the IAC in football and basketball. The stats don't back that up. Nobody was trying to put the IAC on the same pedestal as the WCAC football powerhouses that have more than 2x the number of boys in the high school. Some IAC schools have less than 300 boys. They still do pretty well against the WCAC second tier. Relax, Gonzaga dad. Relax.

How good will STA be this Spring? It's pretty obvious STA parents live on here given how many threads there are on STA under the independent school's section.

Does STA have the depth to make noise in the playoffs?

They went 1-5 last spring in the regular season with an upset over Landon however the Bulldogs played Bullis to a 1-goal contest, showing their potential.

They have the best LSM in the IAC and a very good FOGO so they should keep games close this Spring. I'm pretty certain STA did graduate their best attackman last Spring so scoring might be a challenge.
