Blanche as a name?

Hi everyone,
I'd like to name our daughter Blanche. I had an aunt Blanche and she was an amazing woman. DH is not sold on the name. Can anyone give me thoughts? He seems to remember Blanche from Golden Girls who was a hot box. He was forced to watch the show when his grandma babysat him sometimes. |

I associate Blanche with Golden Girls and A Streetcar Named Desire. Neither of which I want to saddle my kid with.
Also, the word blanch just isn't that appealing either. |

| It's rides are there color white. Look at other names with that origin, Bianca, Bellance, Blanca, Fiona, Gwen,Penelope, Susannah for example. |

Honestly, not my favorite name. BUT! Golden Girls is awesome. My DH and I binge episodes on The Hallmark Channel when there's nothing else on and our DVR is dry. |

I wouldn't be able to get away from the association with Blanche in Streetcar. And when they do Streetcar in high school, everyone would turn around and look at the girl with that name.

| No. Use it as a middle name or find another B name to honor her. Although not my favorite, I think Blaire is better than Blanche. I also had a relative named Blanche, and I think old lady. |
