| I'm a Fed lawyer who hates being a lawyer. I'm looking for ideas for jobs with the Feds or outside. Thanks. |

I do policy work for a trade association, and I oversee a few lobbyists (some have JDs, some don't).
I have a friend who does business development. |

| Would love to see this thread keep going. Very interested |
| I work for a bar association. I put on programs and help develop resources for members. You might be surprised at how many specialized bars there are. |
| My cousin has gone back to lawyering, but for 3-4 years he was the director of a children's science museum. He has his undergrad degree in a science field and an interest in education (in fact now that he is back in law, some of his work relates to education). |
Just to add to the story, he worked for a law firm right out of law school in a somewhat sciency legal field. He really didn't like it and moved into public sector legal work (of a sort, not probably what would immediately come to mind). When he returned to law, he also went into a pretty nonremunerative legal setting. He is well known in his field and loves the legal work, but does sometimes miss the paychecks he got in his first job. |
This - my Dh left the FDA for industry to do regulatory work focusing on policy and working with the industry group for the company. Pays as well as in house counsel at this company, similar level of stress. |

I'm not a lawyer but know a slew of them in non-lawyer jobs besides going in-house.
- Recruiting within law firm - Recruiting for staffing agency - Went back to school and became a librarian - Went back to school and became an elementary school teacher - Became a writer - Went into wife's family's jewelry business |
| Great ideas here. Bump. |
