Which would you choose?
I prefer one and my husband likes the other. We want a name that works in both Spanish and English. Other suggestions also welcome! |
Sebastian |
Lucas. Hate Gabriel. |
Because? I have a Gabriel, and we have always enjoyed the name. People can spell it, but it isn't excessively common. FWIW, I also think Lucas is lovely. |
Are you Catholic? When I hear Gabriel I assume the family is very Catholic. |
My friend has boys Rafael and Nicolas and they go by Rafa and Nico- wanted English/Spanish names. I prefer Lucas over Gabriel. In English it's pronounced Gay-bree-el, in Spanigh Gah- bree-el- very dfferent. |
Lucas is awful. It rhymes with mucas and it makes me picture an awkward kid with green snot coming out his nose.
Definitely go with Gabriel. I like Gabe as a nickname too. |
Lucas |
OP here, that's interesting. Yes, we were both raised Catholic, although we aren't very religious. I'm aware that it's the name of the archangel, although I don't see it as that different from, e.g. Michael |
Lucas |
Don't like either but Lucas is slightly better. |
I prefer Gabriel to Lucas. You could use Lucas as the middle name though. |
Gabriel, definitely. |
I like them both |
