She crafted songs and then wanted to play them for the world because she was proud of them.
She is proud of herself.
And she deserves to be.
And I don’t know how you think this album “landed” other than with millions of sales and her dominating the charts.
Also with plenty of critical acclaim.

The first time I heard her latest album, I actually hated it. So many words! I told my daughter she needed an editor. But then I listened to it again, several times, over and over - and now I love it. There are only a few songs I don't like - the rest are fantastic. I think she outdid herself. And the weirdos who take every word literally are beyond silly.

Me too. I literally love 15 of the 31 songs and like all but 2.

31 songs, that’s insane. She’s amazing.

What planet are you on? Seriously where are you getting information and news?

The album is number #1 yes but she has no breakout singles. Fortnight fizzled out and there are no other big singles.

Fortnight sat at number 1 on billboard hot 100 a couple of weeks, and has been charted since release. It’s slipped out of top 10 after 2 months. Is that a fizzle? I don’t know what expectations would be, so I won’t speculate.
BUT Break out big singles have never been her thing. She sells albums. She literally sells the same album to people like 6 different ways.
It’s crazy.
But yes selling a gajillion albums means you are not a “flop”

Milking her rabid fan base to buy her albums is not the same as commercial pop success. The album has not produced any pop hits. Just a fact. And please don't act like she doesn't care about pop single success.

Yep. This album didn't have any singles that generated broad commercial success. Now her fans pivot to saying she doesn't want successful singles? Yeah, right. No pop hits means this album was her least successful ever in generating broad commercial appeal. That's terrifying at her age because it's so rare for a pop star in their mid 30s to ever have another #1 pop single.

Literally has had a top 10 single for the last 2 months… does not equal flop.
Sorry babe.

She may still release more of the songs as singles. I Can Do it With a Broken Heart would probably do well. The first singles released for a lot of her albums didn't do as well as later releases. Look at Blank Space or Cruel Summer. They were not the first singles released for either album but did amazing when they were released. Cruel Summer didn't become popular until like 4 years after it was originally released.

Who cares it's all the same fan girls listening to it

TS doesn’t release singles in general.

I didn’t like the album at first but now I love it too. That said, there is no denying that Taylor is not that deep and the vast majority of her songs are about love and men, and in particular one man. That much became apparent in TTPD. “All those nights you kept me going, swirled you into all of my poems.”

She has said in the past that books, movies, and fiction inspired some of her songs and albums, but I think that was a ruse so she can freely express feelings and longings while in a relationship with another and also so she can appear more complex than a smitten woman.

"I Can Do It With a Broken Heart" is a jam. That should be her next single!

This is correct. She did not release a single prior to TTPD, which is what most artists do.
And she still topped the singles chart.
Because …
She’s just operating at a different level.

There will be. Both But Daddy I Love Him & Florida could become singles. Down Bad & Guilty As Sin are potential singles too.
Personally, I love Peter, but that’ll never be a single because it’s slow and not as catchy.
