Take the ferry over to bainbridge island, its a pretty ride and the bainbridge is really cute.
gasworks park is a really pretty spot. |

Seattle has a fantastic zoo, and a good aquarium although it's not as big as Baltimore's - given a choice I'd do the zoo there instead of the aquarium. Lots of large natural-looking habitats, really interesting animals.
The base of the Space Needle has some great playground areas and run-around space. Go see the troll under the Ballard bridge. It makes for cute pictures with a baby, even if (s)he is far too young to get it. |
| OP here. Thanks so much for the suggestions! |
|
University fo Washington is a nice tour,
Boeing tour is also a neat provided you have a car fishmarket is also a cool stop. |
|
The Ballard Locks part of town is cool. Lots of Scandinavians there, good coffee and pastries. Gasworks Park is around there, too.
Alki Point Beach on the south end offers great views of the city, and has restaurants. |
| oh and I totally recommend checking out Din Tai Fung for their soup dumplings. Just get there early (by 5/5:30pm) as the wait can get long. |
The Woodland Park Zoo (Seattle) is nice and shady. Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium is in Tacoma, about 40 minutes from Seattle. If you're feeling adventurous, one of you can swim with sharks! Space Needle is touristy, but it was kinda cool. If either one of you is interested in music, the Experience Music Project is very close to the Space Needle, and has a lot of cool hands-on exhibits. |
Things are "touristy" because they are important to see - duh. |
| Chihuly museum. (Not because of the baby obviously.) |
| The restaurant at the top of the space needle is really fun for kids, even though it's super touristy. My kids still talk about that two years later. |
| All these suggestions are going on my list! Thank you so much! |
Not always. Sometimes they're overpriced, overblown, and a lot of aggravation for not that much fun. |
